My A to Z non-theme reveal

Last year I truly enjoyed participating in the A-Z Blog Hop. It was my first year, and though I did get a tad overwhelmed toward the end of April, I was amazed at the massive number of connections made through this blog-a-thon. I met a lot of friends, and I’ve enjoyed chatting with them since.

This year I will be attending a writers’ conference in April, and I’ve also taken on a couple of big projects, so I won’t be joining the hop. It just wouldn’t work out with me being gone for an entire week through the month. I considered writing my posts in advance and scheduling them automatically, but I know I wouldn’t be able to check my blog and respond to comments and return visits to others. I suspect you all would forgive me, but I still can’t get myself to do that. The week of the conference is going to be busy, busy, busy, and I don’t want to complicate it with guilt.

Regardless, I will still be posting and visiting many of your blogs during the weeks that I’m not separated from my computer. I’m looking forward to reading as many A-Z posts as I can, and I wish you all luck in getting through the coming month with success.

Happy writing!

  2. The conference sounds like a fantastic opportunity. I'm looking for one to attend as well! I haven't yet joined the A to Z blog hop, but I enjoy checking out everyone's post and living vicariously through other bloggers. LOL

Thanks for checking out Violet Storm! (Giving you a virtual hug). :)

  3. Hi Debi - thanks for letting us know - why do all the buses come at once? conferences, A-Z, extra work etc ... but as Anna says - enjoy the Conference ... and we no doubt will be doing the A-Z next year .. cheers Hilary

  4. I think the conference sounds more fun. I did A-Z twice and it's a lot of work. Even if, like you say, you preschedule your posts to publish, visiting/commenting takes forever. I've come to kind of dread the upswing in daily posts.

    1. It is a lot of work. I enjoyed it last year, but it did wear me out. I think when it was done I stayed off my computer for a full weekend. :-)

  7. Have fun at the conference! Not surprised at all that you can't participate in A-to-Z as a result. That challenge already seems time-consuming enough on its own!

    1. It is, and this is one that gives homework to do to keep the evenings busy.

    1. You too. I'll be doing a lot of painting, too, so I already feel like I'm behind on my writing, but I am looking forward to swirling paints around a canvas. :-)

  10. I'm skipping this year's A-Z, too - just too much other stuff going on, and I know I wouldn't be able to participate the way I'd want to. I still plan on doing some blog visiting off and on throughout the Challenge though. Enjoy the conference! :)

    1. I missed a conference last year during the A to z, so it might turn out that I will be taking turns from year to year--conference, then A to Z, then conference... It seems so many are scheduled in April.

  11. I don't blame you for not doing A to Z. It sounds like it would have been April overload. Have fun at the conference!!

    1. April was an overload, and then upon return, the ISP switched companies, so many emails, including alerts that you left a message on my blog, went into --not my junk folder--but their junk folder. I had many service problems over the last month, and now that it is working right, I'm getting a backlog of old messages. Yeesh! :-)

  13. I understand but will miss your posts for the A to Z. The conference is a great opportunity for you so naturally you should go. The A to Z is a lot of work, but I always enjoy it.

    Have fun!
