A good friend of mine suggested I use this song to inspire my next big project. So whenever I find my energy lagging during my WIP, I give this a listen. Thank you, Terri!
Shivers, yes. Motivation, heck yeah!
So get writing!
:-)
I first heard that song on The Tonight Show in the early 1970s, sung by Frankie Laine. A few years later, in the late 1970s and early 1980s, I was lead singer in a handful of rock'n'roll bands. Anyway, in 1988, I was in a Florida bar which was featuring a country/western keyboard player whose main claim to fame was that he'd played on some of Patsy Cline's recordings roughly thirty years earlier. A few of the bar's regulars knew about my background and told him, so he invited me to get up on stage with him to sing a set! One of the songs I got to sing was "You Gave Me a Mountain." Quite an enjoyable experience.
Nobody did it like Elvis.
ReplyDeleteThat's for sure.

ReplyDeleteWow, so next to most of us, you're a little famous. Cool.
DeleteAnd thanks for stopping by. :-)
Witnessing someone do something they're good at is always motivating.
ReplyDeleteI agree. It always give me hope ... and even when it doesn't, it leaves me feeling good. :-)
